Greenhouse Manual: Lessons in greenhouse farming from Nepal’s high-altitude Humla district (Nepali)

This manual is in Nepali. Click here for the English Version

This Greenhouse manual offers practical, step-by-step guidance for building and using greenhouses to grow crops year-round. Drawing on nearly two decades of Adara’s hands-on experience, it combines proven techniques with insights tailored to the unique climatic and geographic challenges of Nepal’s mountainous regions. The methods outlined have been successfully implemented in Humla and are designed to be adaptable for similar environments across Nepal and beyond.

Greenhouses not only improve household nutrition and food security but also strengthen local economies – building long-term resilience.

This manual is not only a technical guide but also a learning tool. We hope it will serve as a valuable resource for communities facing similar challenges in Nepal and beyond. This is a living document that will continue to evolve as we learn from our ongoing work in greenhouse farming and our collaboration with local communities.

To support the manual, Adara’s greenhouse farming video walks through each stage of greenhouse construction with clear visuals, and features insights from community members and Adara’s local experts: WATCH HERE
